Truck fuel-saving tips, learn these 10 tips to easily reduce fuel consumption!

No matter when, fuel consumption must be a topic often discussed by card enthusiasts. Because in addition to needing a fuel-efficient truck, the driver’s personal driving skills also have a great impact on the vehicle’s fuel consumption. As long as you learn the following 10 fuel-saving tips, you can easily achieve the ultimate fuel-saving effect.

  • Soft start

Press the accelerator slowly and accelerate slowly. Gradually change gears from low to high. This can reduce the engine’s heating time and save fuel consumption. If you open the throttle to increase speed when starting, it will not only damage the car but also greatly increase fuel consumption.

  • Drive at economical speed

The vehicle is most fuel-efficient when running at the economical speed. No matter if the speed is too high or too low, it will be detrimental to fuel economy. When the rotational speed is low, the movement speed of the piston is low and combustion is incomplete. When the speed is high, the speed of the intake air increases, resulting in an increase in the intake resistance, which increases fuel consumption.

  • Gently lift the accelerator

Lifting the accelerator lightly can save fuel. If you lift the accelerator sharply, the engine speed will suddenly decrease and act as a drag, offsetting part of the driving inertia and causing the car to “vibrate” and increase fuel consumption.

  • Lift the accelerator

Shifting gears must be fast and timely, especially when driving on a slope. The shorter the shifting time, the better the car’s power will be and the more fuel it can save.

  • Keep a safe distance from the car

If the road is congested and the car in front brakes frequently, you should keep a sufficient following distance from the car in front. This will allow you to slow down calmly and reduce the number of braking times to save fuel.

  • Use engine brake more often

Wheel braking is essentially an energy conversion process, and braking means energy consumption. Therefore, when passing an intersection or going downhill, you should lift the accelerator in advance and use engine braking more. No fuel is consumed when the engine is braking, so that the vehicle will naturally decelerate to achieve the purpose of “sliding instead of braking”.

  • Use fuel-saving switch

In the case of different load masses, the fuel-saving switch is used to make the engine power output different under different load conditions, so that the engine energy is not wasted and fuel saving is achieved.

  • Driving in high gear saves fuel

Generally, manual transmissions have 9 to 16 forward gears. Among them, gears 1, 2, and 3 are low-speed gears, used for starting, going up steep slopes, etc., which consume high fuel and are not suitable for long-distance driving. Direct gear and overdrive gear are high gears with fast vehicle speed and lowest fuel consumption. You should try to use high gears when driving.

  • Smooth start and stop

When starting to stop and refueling, tread lightly. Braking hard and starting hard while driving are taboos for saving fuel. If you step on the accelerator hard, the fuel consumption will be greatly increased, and in fact it won’t be much faster.

  • Moderately warm the car

When the vehicle is on the road within 1 minute after it is started, it is best to keep the vehicle in a low gear and drive gently for 3-5 kilometers to allow the vehicle to warm up. Warming up the car for too long is undoubtedly a waste of fuel, while driving with a cold car will not only waste fuel, but also lead to increased maintenance costs.
